If you forget your user or setup password, you cannot operate your computer
or change settings in the system setup program until you clear the forgotten
password(s).

NOTICE:

This process erases both the system and setup passwords.

Shut down the computer (see page 20).

Turn off any attached devices and disconnect them from their

electrical outlets.

NOTICE:

To disconnect a network cable, first unplug the cable from your

computer and then unplug it from the network wall jack.

Disconnect the computer power cable from the wall outlet, and then

press the power button to ground the system board.

Open the computer cover (see page 65).

Locate jumper PSWD on the system board (see page 68) and remove

the jumper plug from pins 1 and 2.

Close the computer cover (see page 87), plug your computer into an

electrical outlet, and turn on the computer.
This process erases the existing password(s).

Shut down the computer (see page 20).

Turn off any attached devices and disconnect them from their

electrical outlets.

NOTICE:

To disconnect a network cable, first unplug the cable from your

computer and then unplug it from the network wall jack.

Disconnect the computer power cable from the wall outlet, and then

press the power button to ground the system board.

Open the computer cover (see page 65).

Reinstall the PSWD jumper plug on pins 1 and 2 (pin 1 is marked on

the system board).

Close the computer cover (see page 87), plug your computer into an

electrical outlet, and turn on the computer.
Turning on your computer with the PSWD jumper installed reenables

the password feature.
