9. Problem; It Takes Too Long For My Clothes To Dry

Question

What to Do

• Did you properly sort your loads of

laundry?

Separate licavy weight items from light weight items when creating loads.

• Are you drying large loads of heavy

fabrics?

Heavy fabrics take longer to dry because tliey tend to retain more moistme. To help

reduce and maintain mote consistent drying times for large and heavy fabrics,

separate these items into smaller loads of a consistent size.

• Are lire dryer controls properly set*^Use the appropriate contiol settings for the type of load you are drying.

• Is the lint filter clean before each

new load of laundry?

Please confinn that tlie lint filter is clean prior to each new load of laundry.

• Are the exhaust ducts clear and

properly configured?

Confirm througli review of tlie appropriate sections of this manual that the exhaust

venting ductwork is properly configured. Confirm tliat the venting is free of

obstiuctions. Confirm tliat the outside wall dampers aie moving freely, tliat the
dampers are not pushed in. and tliat nothing has been set against the dampers.

• Is the fuse blown, or is tlie circuit

breaker tiipped?

Check your home's or laundiy loom’s fuse box/dreuit breaker box and replace tlie

fuse or reset tlie circuit breaker. (IMPORTANT: electric dryers generally use two
fuses or breakers.)

• Did you overload your dryer?

Divide yoiu' larger load into a number of smaller loads.

* Did you under load your dryer?

If you aie only drying a handful of items, add a few extra pieces to help ensure

proper tumbling action.

Over diying a load of laundry can lead to wrinkled clodies. Try a shorter diying
time, and remove items while they still retain a slight amount of moistme.

fold the items.
