TTL AUTO FU\SH OPERATION

The difference between Automatic Baianced Fili-Flash and
Standard TTL Fiash is in whether the flash output ievei is
automaticaily compensated or not. Operation is the same.

1. Set camera’s metering system and exposure mode, referring

to previous tabie.

Turn Speediight on.

If Wide-Area focus is set on the camera, it automaticaiiy

switches over to Spot Area focus when the Speediight
connected to the camera is turned on. In this case, O blinks
in the LCD panel, and S appears inside the viewfinder.
• If Speediight is not set at TTL auto flash mode, in

Programmed Auto exposure mode, FEE blinks to alert that
Programmed Auto exposure can be used only for TTL auto

fiash.

Set Speedlight’s mode selector to TTL.

• With SB-23, setting mode selector to TTL simultaneously

turns Speediight on.

Look through the viewfinder, compose picture and lightly

press shutter release button, while confirming exposure
indication in the LCD readout. In autofocus operation, also

confirm that in-focus indicator (• or ►•<) appears.

• In Programmed or Shutter-Prioroity Auto exposure mode, if

you fail to have set the lens to minimum aperture, FEE

blinks and shutter is locked.
