This battery check mdex mark serves
also as the stopped down metering index mark
for use with Canon FL lenses end other
similar manual lenses, when exposure measure^
ment is performed with a stopped-down
diaphragm. (See page 49.)
Aperture Control Signal

When the aperture rii>g Is not set at the
mark, you cannot get the correct ex*
posure in AE photography. When the aperture
ring is set at any position other than the "A"
mark, the rrumual aperture control "M'* signal
will blink as a warning. Also, when Cv>on FL
lenses. Bellows or the like are used, this
warnirsg signal flashes on ar>d off when ex
posure measurement is performed.
