For nice underwater shots, keep in
mind the following:

The subject appears larger underwater
since the refractive index of water is
1.33 times as large as for air. A shoot
ing distance between 1—3.2 m
[3.3 — 10.7 ft.], therefore, underwater
looks like a distance of between
approx. 0.75 — 2.4 m [2.5—8 ft.].
Pictures taken underwater appear
bluish. This is because water absorbs
light at longer wavelengths (i.e. red),
leaving light of shorter wavelengths
