Introduction
This directions for use describes the capabilities and operation of the Welch Allyn OAE
Screener (screener).

The screener is indicated for testing of cochlear function in infants, children, and adults
by measuring otoacoustic emissions (OAEs). This device is suitable for use in all
settings, including hospitals, schools, and physicians' offices. Factory defined protocols
allow for simple screening measurements.
The screener is intended to be used by physicians, technicians, neonatal nurses, and
school nurses who have been trained by a healthcare professional.
Before using the screener, you must familiarize yourself with all warnings and cautions,
with the steps to power up the screener, and with the sections of this directions for use
