To insure good results & quick test:

Ambient Lighting:

- Don’t perform test by uncovered windows
- Dimmed light can help with small pupils

Too dim makes it harder to find the
pupil for those with dark eyes.

Entry Angle:

- Straight and level
- Rotate unit to test left eye

Fixation: “Look at the red light”

- Remind and Monitor

Match Patient Age and Mode:

- These are noted on print-out

Correct Distance/Not Taking Readings:

- Are you square and level?
- Scan around the pupil
- Ask patient if they see the red light
- Aim high if testing through glasses
