Printing the Log file

The upgrade log file may be printed only from the # or % prompts. If the computer has
any other prompts (>, ok, console login:, etc.) this process will fail.

If there are any errors during Chapter 3 of this procedure, use this procedure to print the
log file for submitting to Welch Allyn Technical Support.

This process may also be used if you wish to print a record of the patch installation for
your records.

Determine the name of the System printer

To determine the name of the System printer:

1.

Type lpstat -t and press Return.

The output of the command looks similar to one of these examples

The text that is listed in bold are the names of the System printers. They may be
different for your system. Choose one of the printer names and use it in the
commands below. If more than one printer name is listed and you are unsure which
one to use, use the first one in the list.

# lpstat -t
scheduler is running
no system default destination
device for lp_acuity1: /dev/null.lp
character set
lp_acuity1 accepting requests since Wed 25 Jan 2006 06:28:35 PM PST
printer lp_acuity1 is idle. enabled since Wed 25 Jan 2006...
