Batch Setup (System Setup Menu)
The Batch Setup options menu may be
used to configure parameters pertaining to the
batching process. This menu option is only
available when the system type is set to the
batching mode. The Batch Mode may be set to
either Auto or Manual. When Auto is selected the
system will automatically start the next batch at
the completion of the previous batch. In Manual
mode the operator must press the start button at the
beginning of each batch.
The Preact feature may be toggled on or off
by pressing the Preact button. If the Preact is
turned on, the Preact type button is displayed and
may be used to select the type of Preact to use. A fixed Preact value may be entered by pressing
the Batch Setup button from the Main Menu. Once set, a fixed Preact value will not change. If a
learned Preact is selected, the BC623 will examine the amount over or under the batch weight
was at the completion of a batch and adjust the Preact automatically. The Preact is adjusted in
the necessary direction and in an amount equal to one half of the error with a maximum adjust of
10 units at a time.
Tolerance checking may be turned on or off by pressing the Tolerance Check button. If
turned on, the BC623 will check the final batch weight against the entered allowable tolerance.
If the batch is with in the specified tolerance, the system will store the batch weight in the
history, and continue. If the batch is out of tolerance, the BC623 will alert the operator. The
operator must then acknowledge the out of tolerance condition.
The automatic tare option may be toggled on or off by pressing the Automatic Tare
button. If turned on, the BC623 will automatically perform a tare at the beginning of each batch.
Pressing the Next button displays
additional parameters. Pressing the Req Zero
button toggles the require zero feature on or
off. If turned on the BC623 will require that
the weight on the scale return to zero (+/- the
Zero band value) at the beginning of each
batch.
Pressing the Req Container button
toggles the require container feature on or off.
If turned on, the BC623 will require that a
container of the weight specified by the
Container weight parameter ( +/- the Container
Band Value) be placed on the scale at the
beginning of each batch. The require zero and require container features are most useful in a
batching application where containers are being filled in a gain in weight system. The Settle
Delay is the number of seconds to allow the flowing product to settle after the feeder is stopped.
This delay allows the scale weight to stabilize at the completion of a batch thus increasing the
recorded weight accuracy. The Batch counter feature may be turned on or off by pressing the
