Go-Around Mode

1.

Prior to or when the MDA or DH

is reached, add appropriate climb
collective power and depress the
GO-AROUND pushbutton on the col-
lective switch panel.

2.

The Flight Director will provide

commands to climb at 750 feet per
minute. The roll command will be for
roll-level flight.

3.

Using cyclic beep trim, the climb

rate can be modified to desired heli-
copter performance.

4.

When appropriate, a new lateral

mode and/or vertical mode may be
engaged to provide guidance.

Navigation Coupling

1.

Select the navigation

source to be coupled to the
AFCS by depressing the NAV
pushbutton on the EHSI. The system
will not couple to ADF.

2.

Use the COURSE

knob to select the course
to be tracked. (If coupling
to GPS/LORAN in AUTO-
LEG operation COURSE selection is
automatic.

3.

Heading mode can be engaged

to provide intercept guidance to the
selected course. Based on course
and distance, choose a heading that
provides an adequate intercept.

4.

Depress the NAV pushbutton on

the Mode Select Panel. The flight
director will then be ARMed to cap-
ture the selected course when the
capture criteria are satisfied.
