EFIS and the audio output of the AP74 is muted.
* If an AP74 failure is detected during this condition, the EFIS “direct” audio output (tones only)
is automatically re-enabled (fail-over).
Selecting TEST VOICE OUTPUT and then pressing SEL► produces an audible voice test
(“DYNON AVIONICS”) on the audio output line. This allows you to verify connections and
volume on the ground. Turn the potentiometer to adjust the volume to your preference.

If an AP74 is not connected or not configured for DSAB, the following message is
displayed:

THIS SETUP MENU IS
DISABLED BECAUSE
NO AP74/76
CONNECTED

STEP 7 – PREPARE FOR FLIGHT TEST ON CLEAR, VFR DAY

The remaining configuration steps are done while flying. At many points, the pilot’s
attention will be divided between documentation, configuring the EFIS, and maintaining
situational awareness. Before commencing these configuration steps, ensure that you
have adequate altitude, clear weather, no traffic, no obstructions in the flight path, great
visibility, etc. If possible, bring someone along on the first configuration flight.

If AP behavior, performance, or interference with the controls is cause for concern while flying,
remember that the AP can be disengaged in any of the following ways:

1. Turn off the AP circuit breaker/switch or remove the fuse.
2. Push the Autopilot Disengage pushbutton.
3. In the EFIS, Select AP > HDG

ON

- push to turn off Roll servo (changes to HDG

OFF

);

ALTON - push to turn off Pitch servo (changes to ALT

OFF

)

4. If you have an AP74 installed, push the AP button (The AP indicator turns off, but the

Mode “armed” lights remain on).

Before commencing the remaining AP configuration steps, verify (on the ground with 0 airspeed
indicated on the EFIS) that the AP status indicator displays (for a 2-axis system):
AP:OFF-OFF
Verify the following if you have a GPS installed, configured, and powered on:

 Magenta GPS information is displayed on the HSI page.
 In the EFIS > AP > MODE menu, both the HDG and TRK options are displayed.
