First-time Operation

Create backup disks

For reinstalIation((^ page 21). create backup disks. To create backup disks, the
optional SuperDisk Drive Pack (CF-VFS371) and 2HD floppy disks are needed.

® Turn the computer off, then remove the CD-ROM drive

® Insert the SuperDisk Drive Pack in the multimedia pocket and turn the computer on.

@ Set a floppy disk and make sure it is not in the write-protected state, then select

[Start] - [Programs] - [Panasonic] - [Create BACKUP DISK] and follow the

on-screen instructions. Place a label identifying the contents on each disk.

following the on-screen instructions.)

Label-side up
Insert the shutter-side

Store the Hoppy disks in a safe place. They will enable you to return your
computer to the condition at the time of purchase should any problems oc­
cur.
When creating floppy disks, do not run any other application program.
When creating floppy disks and the message [Insufficient files to copy] is
displayed, click [OK] and then contact Panasonic Technical Support.

While the MP indicator (^) is on, do not remove the floppy disk, power

down your computer or use the suspend or hibernation function (

When using the files in the following folders available on the retail version of
the Windows 95 CD-ROM, it is necessary to run a separate file decompression
program.

To uncompress the file, it is necessary to have about 75 MB of free disk space
on the hard disk.
To be able to use the CD-ROM drive, or DVD-ROM drive in the MS-DOS

mode, perform the operation below after modifying config.sys and autoexec.bat

"CD-ROM/DVD-ROM Drive" ).

File decompression method:

(i) Turn your computer on.

(g) When [Starting Windows 95] is displayed, press ( F8 ).

Select [Command prompt only],

) Insert the Product Recovery CD-ROM.

At the prompt, input the following:

L:\en\addfile ( Enter )

Follow the message on the screen.

After this program is executed, the contents of the above folders will be

decompressed to the c:\util\win95add folder.
