With the thumb and forefinger of the opposite
hand, grab the serrations on both sides of the
rear of the slide and pull it fully rearward, then
release. Do not hold or restrict the slide as it
moves to the forward position. Fully release
the slide allowing the recoil spring to move
the slide unhindered. Holding or restricting
the travel of the slide may cause a misfeed,
or stop the slide from fully closing. Properly
operating the slide will set the striker, strip off
the top round from the magazine and
chamber it.
WARNING
The firearm is now fully loaded and ready to
fire. Keep muzzle pointed in a safe direction
and engage thumb safety until ready to
shoot. Always unload firearm immediately
after use and before storage.

A. Substandard ammunition.
