1. Learning the Parts of Your New Airgun
Learning the names of the parts of your new airgun helps you to understand your owner’s manual. Use this manual
to increase your enjoyment of this airgun.

2. Operating the Safety
WARNING:
Keep the airgun in the “ON SAFE” position until you are actually ready to shoot.
A. To Put the Airgun “ON SAFE:”
Locate the safety on the right side of your airgun. •
Rotate the lever toward the rear of the gun until it covers the red dot and •
the “S” for safe is showing. (Fig. 2). The safety is not “ON SAFE” unless it is
pushed all the way back covering the red dot.
Like all mechanical devices, an airgun safety can fail. Even when the safety is “ON
SAFE”, continue to handle the airgun safely. NEVER point the airgun at any person.
NEVER point the air gun at anything you do not intend to shoot.
B. To Take the Airgun “OFF SAFE”
Locate the safety on the right side of your airgun. •
Rotate the lever forward until the red dot and the “F” for fire are showing. When •
you can see the RED dot the airgun is “OFF SAFE” and can be fired.
3. Installing and Removing the CO
2
Cartridge
WARNING: CO
2
cartridges may explode at temperatures above 120°F (48.9°C). Do not
mutilate or incinerate them. Do not expose them to heat or store CO
2
cartridges at tempera-
tures above 120°F (48.9°C).
A. Installing the CO
2
Cartridge
Put the airgun “ON SAFE” (section 2A.) •
Remove the clip by pressing the clip release button. •
Turn the piercing knob cap counter-clockwise and remove (Fig. 3). •
Insert a new CO •
2
cartridge into the airgun with the small neck of the CO
2 cartridge toward the top.
Replace the piercing knob cap and turn the knob cap until finger tight, then •
tighten using a tool (approximately 1 full turn)
Point the airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION. •
Cock the airgun by pulling the slide all the way back to the rearward position •
and slowly releasing it, allowing it to move forward (Fig. 4).
Take “OFF SAFE” (section 2B) and pull the trigger. •
Return the safety to the “ON SAFE” position (section 2A). •
If the airgun did not make a popping noise after pulling the trigger, the CO •
2
is
not being discharged. In that event turn the piercing knob cap another ¼ turn,
point the gun in a SAFE DIRECTION, cock the gun, take “OFF SAFE” and pull
the trigger. Repeat as necessary until a popping noise is heard Removing CO

Put the airgun “ON SAFE” (section 2A). •
Remove the clip from the airgun by pressing the clip release button (see section 4B). •
With one hand hold the gun as shown (Fig. 5). •
Note: We recommend the use of Crosman ® brand Powerlet ® CO
2
cartridges. They are made to fit the Model
PRO77 airgun. Other brands of CO
2
cartridges may not fit properly and if you force them into place it may result in
injury to you or damage to your airgun. Never try to force any CO
2
cartridge into or out of place. Do not store your
airgun with a CO
2
cartridge in it. If you know you will not be using your airgun for an extended period of time, empty
the CO
2
cartridge and remove it from the airgun. (See section 3B). This is very important to remember, as it prolongs
the longevity of your airgun seals.
B. Removing the CO
2
Cartridge
WARNING: Keep hands away from escaping CO
2
gas. It can cause frostbite if allowed
to come in contact with skin. Always ensure the CO
2
cartridge is empty before attempting to
remove it from the airgun by slowly turning the knob counter-clockwise all the way until you
no longer hear the escape of CO
2
gas.
Note: THE BOTTLE WILL BE PRESSURIZED INSIDE THE
GUN.THE MORE CO
2
LEFT IN THE GUN, THE MORE
PRESSURE AND THE HARDER IT WILL BE TO REMOVE.
Put the airgun “ON SAFE” (section 2A). •
Remove the clip from the airgun by pressing the clip •
release button(see section 4B).
With one hand hold the gun as shown (Fig. 5). •
With the other hand turn the piercing knob counter-clock- •
wise until you start to hear gas escape, remove hand from
the piercing knob being careful not to come in contact
with the escaping gas.
When you no longer hear gas escaping, continue to slowly •
turn the piercing knob until it is removed from the gun.
Drop out the CO •
2
cartridge and replace the piercing knob.
4. Loading and Unloading BBs
Your airgun was designed to work with Crosman branded ammunition. These in-
clude CROSMAN, COPPERHEAD, and BENJAMIN. Use of other ammunition may
cause your gun to malfunction.
A. Loading
Put the airgun “ON SAFE” (section 2A) •
Point the airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION. •
Remove the clip by pressing the clip release button. •
Pull and hold down the BB follower tab on the clip (Fig. 6). •
Insert up to 17 BBs into the hole on the back of the clip. •
Gently release the BB follower tab. •
Insert the loaded clip into the airgun. •
Your airgun is now loaded and ready to fire, after reading the entire manual, •
including section 7 on reviewing safety.
Note: This airgun has been developed with a blowback feature, which lets the gun automatically re-cock after each
trigger pull. You need only cock your air rifle manually once when loading the CO
2
. In addition, when the BBs have
been shot out of the clip, the airgun will not fully re-cock and the slide remains in the rearward position. To continue
shooting, place the gun “ON SAFE’ and reload BBs, following section 4A. If you are done shooting de-cock the air-
gun by placing your thumb on the hammer and pulling the trigger as you slowly guide the hammer into the forward
position.

WARNING:
To prevent your air pistol from accidentally firing when de-cocking it, your
thumb MUST remain on the hammer as you slowly guide the hammer back to the upward
position. If you do not keep your thumb on the hammer while de-cocking the air pistol, it can
fire, causing possible injury.
B. Unloading BBs
Put the airgun “ON SAFE” (section 2A). •
Point the airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION. •
Remove the clip by pressing the clip release button. •
Pull and hold down the BB follower tab. •
Tip the clip until all the BBs fall out of the hole. •
If a BB is still visible in the top of the clip, push the BB out of the clip using a •
.177 caliber ramrod.
Aim the airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION take “OFF SAFE” (section 2B) and fire. •
Repeat this procedure several times until you are sure you are no longer firing •
BBs.
Note: THE AIRGUN MUST BE CHARGED WITH CO
2
WHEN FOLLOWING THESE
STEPS BUT REMEMBER DO NOT STORE YOUR AIRGUN WITH A CO
2
CAR-
TRIDGE IN IT.
De-cock your airgun by placing your thumb on the hammer and pulling the •
trigger as you slowly guide the hammer into the forward position.
WARNING: Even though you go through the unloading procedure continue to treat the
airgun as though it were loaded. Do not point at anything you do not intend to shoot.
Always point your airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION. •
You and others with you should always wear shooting glasses to protect your •
eyes.
Do not shoot at hard surfaces or at the surface of water. The BB may bounce •
off or ricochet and hit someone or something you had not intended to hit.
Always choose your target carefully. For example, shoot at paper bulls-eye •
targets that are attached to a safe backstop such as the Crosman 850 Target
Trap. A heavy blanket should be hung behind the target trap to prevent rico-
chet should you miss the backstop.
Your airgun is designed for target shooting and is suited for both indoor and •
outdoor use. Always remember to place your target carefully. THINK about
what you will hit if you miss the target.
Follow the instructions for charging the airgun (section 3) and loading BBs •
(section 4A).
The airgun is correctly aimed when the front sight blade is positioned exactly in •
the center of the notch of the rear sight. The top of the front sight blade should
be even with the top of the notch in the rear sight. The bulls-eye should appear to rest on the top of the front
sight (Fig. 7).
When you are sure of your target and backstop, and the area around the target is clear, take the airgun “OFF •
SAFE” (see section 2B) and pull the trigger to fire.
6. Maintaining Your Airgun
Before you attempt to oil your airgun, make sure the gun is unloaded and air has been removed (sections 3B •
and 4B.)
A drop of oil on the end of every CO •
2
cylinder helps to prolong the life of your airgun.
DO NOT use petroleum distillate based oil or solvent and DO NOT over-oil as this can cause damage to your •
airgun.
DO NOT MODIFY OR ALTER YOUR AIRGUN. Attempts to modify the airgun in any way inconsistent with this •
manual may make your airgun unsafe to use, cause serious injury or death, and voids the warranty.
If you drop your airgun, visually check to see that it works properly before you use it again. If anything seems •
changed, like a shorter or weaker trigger pull, this may mean worn out or broken parts. Call the factory for assis-
tance before using your airgun again.
7. Reviewing Safety
Never point the airgun at any person or at anything you do not intend to shoot. •
Always treat the airgun as though it is loaded and with the same respect you would a firearm. •
Always aim in a SAFE DIRECTION. Always keep the muzzle of the airgun pointed in a SAFE DIRECTION. •
Always keep the airgun “ON SAFE” until you are ready to shoot. •
Always check to see if the airgun is “ON SAFE” and unloaded when getting it from another person or from storage. •
Always keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until ready to shoot. •
You and others with you should always wear shooting glasses to protect your eyes. •
If your reading or prescription glasses are not safety glasses wear shooting glasses over your regular glasses. •
Use the proper size BB for your airgun. •
Never reuse ammunition. •
Do not shoot at hard surfaces or at the surface of water. The BB may bounce off or ricochet and hit someone or •
something you had not intended to hit.
Place the backstop in a location that will be safe should the backstop fail. •
Your backstop should be checked for wear before and after each use. All backstops are subject to wear and will •
eventually fail. Replace your backstop if the surface is worn or damaged or if a ricochet occurs.
Do not attempt to disassemble or tamper with your airgun. Use an Authorized Service Station. Using unauthor- •
ized repair centers or modifying the function of your airgun in any way may be unsafe and voids your warranty.
Before you store your airgun, make sure it is unloaded, not charged, and is “ON SAFE.” •

Many factors affect velocity, including brand of projectile, type of projectile, lubrication, barrel condition and tempera-
ture.
Your airgun was designed to work with Crosman branded ammunition. These include CROSMAN, COPPERHEAD
and BENJAMIN. Use of other ammunition may cause your gun to malfunction.

REPAIR SERVICE
If your airgun needs repair, we recommend you take or send it to your nearest Crosman Authorized Service Station.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE IT! Your airgun requires special tools and fixtures to repair it. Any disassem-
bly or modification not performed by an Authorized Service Station voids the warranty.
A SPECIAL CUSTOMER SERVICE
Crosman Authorized Service Stations will unjam your airgun at no cost during the warranty period.
LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY
This product is warranted to the retail consumer for one year from date of retail purchase against defects in mate-
rial and workmanship and is transferable. To register the serial number of your airgun return the airgun registration
form. The warranty is not conditioned on the return of the card. Retain the original sales receipt as record of date of
purchase.
WHAT IS COVERED
Replacement parts and labor. Transportation charges to consumer for repaired product.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
Transportation charges to Authorized Service Station for product. Damages caused by abuse, modification or
failure to perform normal maintenance – see Owner’s Manual. Any other expense. CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES,
INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, OR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES INCLUDING DAMAGE TO PROPERTY. SOME STATES DO
NOTALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES SO THE ABOVE
LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY PERFORMANCE
U.S. Customers: Locate nearest service station (see www.Crosman.com or call Crosman customer service at 800-
724-7486 for list of stations). The service station will give you details of how to proceed with sending the item in for
repair. You must contact the station before shipping your product.
Canadian Customers: Contact the Gravel Agency 418-682-3000 X46
International Customers: Return product to your nearest distributor. If you do not know your distributor call 585-
657-6161 and ask for our International Department for assistance.
IMPLIED WARRANTIES
Any implied warranties including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are
limited in the duration to one year from the date of retail purchase. Some states do not allow limitations on how long
an implied warranty lasts so the above limitations may not apply to you.
To the extent any provision of this warranty is prohibited by federal, state or municipal law, which cannot be pre-
empted, it shall not be applicable. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights, which
vary, from state to state.
