Thank you for purchasing the Galaxy Audio JIB/PB Phantom
Bodypack. Please visit out website (www.galaxyaudio.com) for the
latest updates and FAQ on all of our products and manuals. The
JIB/PB Phantom Bodypack is designed to serve as a phantom
power adapter for electret microphones that use a mini-XLR
(TA3F) connectors. The JIB/PB enables the connection of an
electret microphone to an audio system with an XLR microphone
connector.
The JIB/PB is primarily used to supply proper power to an
electret microphone while running off of phantom power between
9V to 52V. If no phantom power is available, the JIB/PB can still
supply power to the microphone by use of a AA battery. When
running off of the internal battery, the JIB/PB will supply 1.3V to
the microphone.
The JIB/PB also features a belt clip that allows the user to
attach the unit to a piece of clothing. The belt clip can also be
removed so that the unit can be placed comfortably in a pocket or
permanently mounted.

Using the JIB/PB
Connect the microphone to the mini-XLR connector on the
JIB/PB. Connect the Male XLR of the JIB/PB to your audio
system. If your audio system is supplying phantom power to the
JIB/PB, the “off” position and the “flat” position on the switch will
both allow audio signal to pass to your audio system. The “Roll-
off” position will roll-off frequencies below 185Hz.
If your audio system is not supplying phantom power to the
JIB/PB and you are running off of the internal battery, the “off”
position will turn the microphone off, the “flat” position will produce
an uncolored signal from your microphone, and the “Roll-off”
position will roll-off frequencies below 185Hz. When running on
batteries, remember to switch the unit off while not in use to avoid
draining the battery.
