Place a piece of double-sided tape on the back side of the ESC (Electron-

ic Speed Control). Mount the ESC onto the E-Board as shown in the picture.
Route the ESC lead to the E-Board and plug it into the port labeled ESC on the
E-Board. It is best to route the wires as shown above and place the old E-Board
power connector on top of the E-Board to avoid accidental use. Route the ESC
power lead out the bottom of the helicopter as shown (the power connector on
the E-Board is no longer used).

MOTOR DIRECTION CHECK

MOTOR DIRECTION CHECK

Ensure that all of the wires are clear of rotating components and make sure

that none of the wires can become entangled in the rotating components. Con-
nect the fl ight battery to the ESC and turn the transmitter on with the throttle in
the lowest position. Once the transmitter and receiver have been linked, place
the helicopter on the ground at least 15ft away. Slowly add throttle and verify
that the main rotor blades are rotating in the correct direction. If the main rotor
blades are rotating backwards, then disconnect motor harness from the ESC
and simply rotate the harness 180° and reconnect. This will reverse the rotation
of the main drive motor.

Place the canopy back onto the model and the brushless upgrade is now

complete. No additional settings or changes are needed before fl ight. Enjoy fl y-
ing your brushless Heli-Max™ Novus CP.
