CASSETTE RECORDER
Compact cassettes
For recording, use only NORMAL cassettes (ferric
oxide, lEC type I).
For playback, any cassette type can be inserted.

Fast winding and rewinding
Press fast forward wind F.FWD ►► or REWIND <4
button. To stop fast winding, press STOP button ■.
Safeguarding a cassette against erasure
Keep the cassette side to be safeguarded in front of
you (fig. 6) and break out the left tab. Now, recording
on this side is no longer possible.
You can renderthis safeguard ineffective by covering
the aperture with a piece of adhesive tape.
Tape counter © - deck A
Set the tape counter ©to zero by pressing the zero
reset button immediately after inserting a cassette.
By noting the counter reading at which each record
ing commences, you will be able to locate any of your
programmes rapidly by fast winding or rewinding to
the same reading.
RECORDING (on deck A only)
Preparation
During recording, the deck B buttons should not be
pressed (except for PLAY ► during dubbing).
• Switch on the set with POWER switch ©.
• Set the DUBBING SPEED selector©to NORMAL.
• Press EJECT ■ to open the cassette holder.
• Insert the cassette into deck A (fig. 5).
For recording you must use a NORMAL cassette (lEC
type I) on which the tabs (fig. 6) are not broken out.
At the very beginning of the tape, no recording will
take place during the first 7 seconds when the leader
tape passes the recorder heads.
• When monitoring during recording, adjust the
sound with the controls VOLUME ©, BALANCE ©
and GRAPHIC EQUALIZER These controls do not
affect the recording.
Recording from the radio
• Set the FUNCTION selector © to RADIO.
• In case of FM radio recordings, set the FM
MONO/STEREO selector ©to the desired position.
• If a whistling sound occurs during MW or LW radio
recordings which was not present during normal
radio reception, this sound can be suppressed by
setting RIF-selector @ to another position.
Mono recording from the microphone MIC ©
• Set the FUNCTION selector © to TAPE.
• Set the VOLUME control © to minimum (during
microphone recordings, monitoring is not possible).
Recording from the CD/AUX sockets ©
• Set the FUNCTION selector © to CD/AUX.
• Connect the CD/AUX sockets @ to the output
sockets TAPE OUT, REC OUT or UNE OUT of the
other set.
Starting and stopping
• Start recording by pressing RECORD •; in doing
so, PLAY ► is pressed too.
• For brief interruptions, press PAUSE

. To restart
recording, press this button once more.
• To stop recording, press STOP ■. On pressing
again, the cassette holder will open.
• Always switch off the set after use with POWER
switch ©.
DUBBING - Copying from deck B to A
When copying, it is recommended to use fresh
batteries or to connect the set to the mains supply.
• Switch on the set with POWER switch ©.
• Set FUNCTION selector © to TAPE.
• Set the DUBBING SPEED selector © to;
NORMAL for normal speed copying;
HIGH for high speed copying.
Do not switch this selector during dubbing.
• Press both EJECT buttons ■ and insert a record
ed cassette into deckB and a cassette which is
suited for recording into deck A (fig. 5).
• Dubbing will start by pressing at the same time on
deck B PLAY ► and on deck A RECORD •. During
high speed dubbing, the indicator © ^ lights up.
• By pressing PAUSE

on deck A. you can omit
undesired passages while deck B continues, or you
can insert another cassette in deck B and search for
a particular passage on it. To restart copying, press
PAUSE

once more.
• Using PAUSE

of deck B. deck A will record a
blank part.
• To stop dubbing, press both STOP buttons ■.
• Always switch off the set after use with POWER
switch ©.

• Set FUNCTION selector © to TAPE.
• Press EJECT ■ and insert a recorded cassette
