hannel Auto Memo (or
First Time Setup) takes

care of some basic TV settings

for you. Follow the steps in this

section:

to set the language of the

TV’s menu

®

to add channels into the

TV’s memory

to set the TV for Antenna or

Cable TV signal
connections.

These instructions apply only
when you turn on the TV the

first time. After the TV has been

turned on for the first time, or if

you want to set up the TV chan­
nels and language later, refer to

the information on page 5.

Be sure to connect the

TV power cord to a standard
AC outlet.

Press the POWER

button to turn the TV ON.

The language selection menu
appears on the TV screen.

play the TV’s on screen menu.

Press the CHANNEL (A) or (▼)

button to select an item in the menu.
Press the VOLUME (+) or (-) but­
ton to adjust an item in the menu.

Note: Select EXIT in the on screen
menu, then press the VOLUME (+)
button to remove the menu.

The tuned ^
channel number
will appear when
you turn on the TV

and when you
change channels. To
display the channel
number at all times,
set REMINDER to
ON. See page 6 for
details.

o load the batteries into

the remote:

1. Slide off the battery com­

partment lid on the
remote control.

2. Insert two AA batteries

(supplied) into the bat­
tery compartment as

indicated by the + / -
markings inside the bat­
tery compartment.

Batteries installed incor­
rectly may damage the
remote control.

3. Replace the lid.

Point the remote con­

trol toward the remote sen­
sor on the TV when operat­
ing the TV with the remote.

Menu Buttons
Press to access the on screen menu. Press
the CH(annel) A/T buttons to select an
item in the menu. Press the VOL(ume)
+/- buttons to adjust an item in the menu.

Power Button
Press to turn the TV ON and OFR

Number Buttons
Press two number buttons to select a TV
channel. For example, to select channel
6, press 0,6.
When you select channels which are
equal or greater than the number 100,
press the +100 button, then press the last
two digits of the channel you want. For
example, to select channel 117, press the
+100 button, 1,7.

CH(annel)

A/T

Buttons

Press to scan through programmed chan­
nel numbers.
Press to select an item in the on screen
menu.

Status/Exit Button
Press to see the current channel number
on the TV screen. Press to exit the menu.

Sleep Button
Press to set the TV to turn itself OFF
automatically.

“Alt. Ch (Alternate Channel) Button

Press to return to the TV channel you
were viewing immediately before switch­
ing to your current channel.

"Mute Button

Press to eliminate the TV sound. Press
again to restore the sound.

VQL(ume) +/- Buttons
Press to adjust the TV sound level.
Press to adjust an item in the menu
(BRIGHTNESS, for example) or to
advance to the next menu.
