inches of thread through needle.
Hold the end of upper thread loosely and turn hand

wheel toward you until the needle goes all the way down

and comes back up. A loop (Fig. 11 j will be foiled ovw
the upper thread which then can be pulled out straight.
Place both thread ends under the slot of the presser foot
and draw toward the back of the machine, leaving both
threads three or four inches long.

SETTING THE STITCH LENGTH

Forward and reverse stitching are both regulated by

lever A Fig. 12.

To adjust the stitch length loosen screw B and move

to bottom of slot Move lever A to desired stitch length.

in an upward motion until stop contacts lever A tight­
en screw "B". This will set the stops for both forward

and reverse stitching.

To sew in reverse move lever A in an upper motion

until it contacts stop.
