MAINTENANCE

COOLING SYSTEM (See Fig. 14)

Your engine is

air

cooied. For proper engine performance

and iong iife keep your engine ciean,

Ciean air screen frequentiy using a stiff-bristied
brush,

Remove biower housing and ciean as necessary,

Keep cyiinder fins free of dirt and chaff.

MUFFLER

Do not operate tiiier without muffier. Do not tamper with

exhaust system, Damaged muffiers orspark arresters couid
create a fire hazard. Inspect periodicaiiy and repiace if
necessary. If your engine is equipped with a spark arrester
screen assembiy, remove every 50 hours for cieaning and
inspection, Repiace if damaged.

SPARK PLUG

Repiace spark piugs at the beginning of each tiliing sea­

son or after every 50 hours of use, whichever comes first.
Spark piug type and gap setting is shown in “PRODUCT
SPECIFICATIONS” on page 3 of this manuai,

TRANSMISSION

Your transmission is seaied andwiii oniy require iubrication

if it is serviced,

CLEANING

Do not ciean your tiiier when the engine and transmission

are hot. We do not recommend using pressurized water

(garden hose, etc,) to ciean your unit uniess the gasket

area around the transmission and the engine muffier, air

fiiter and carburetor are covered to keep water out. Water

in engine wiii shorten the usefui iife of your tiiier,

Ciean engine, wheeis, finish, etc, of aii foreign mat­
ter,

Keep finished surfaces and wheeis free of aii gasoiine,

oii, etc,

Protect painted surfaces with automotive type wax.
