2.2 Rear Panel Features

1. Secondary Cellular (WWAN) Antenna Connector - This SMA female connector is used to connect the

unit’s secondary cellular antenna. It is highly recommended to use the secondary antenna for diversity. In

most circumstances, dual antennas will provide improved signal strength thus better performance.

2. LAN 0 - This RJ45 port is used to connect the unit to a 10/100 base-TLAN. The port is auto-sensing for

speed and wiring (straight-through or cross-over).

3. LAN 1 (optional) - This RJ45 port is used to connect the unit to a 10/100 base-TLAN. The port is auto-

sensing for speed and wiring (straight-through or cross-over).

4. Serial 0 Port - This DB9 port provides an asynchronous RS232 (RS485 optional) serial port with optional

RS422/485 support which may be which may be used to connect the unit to a compatible serial device.

This is a DCE serial port and allows CLI access to the device by default; the baud rate is 115200. A pinout

diagram is available in Appendix A: SERIAL 0 Port Pin-out Diagram on page 19.

5. Power Cord Input – This socket is used to connect the unit to a power source using either the supplied

Power supply or DC power cord. The barrel plug connector can be secured by rotating it by 90o once

installed into the Digi TransPort unit.

6. Primary Cellular (WWAN) Antenna Connector - This SMA female connector is used to connect the unit’s

primary cellular antenna.

7. Power Cord Input (Terminal Block Variant) – This socket is used to connect the unit to an alternative

power source. For wiring details, see Section 3 Installation.
