for the presence of water in the socket.

3. To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when

any appliance is used by or near children.

4. Always unplug an appliance from a socket when not in use,

before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Never

yank cord to pull the plug from the socket. Grasp the plug and

pull to disconnect.

5. Do not use an appliance for other than its intended use (i.e. do

not use in swimming pools, garden ponds, bathrooms or any

situations where people are immersed). The use of attachments

not recommended or sold by the manufacturer of the appliance

may cause an unsafe condition.

6. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to

the weather or to temperatures below freezing.

7. Make sure an appliance is securely installed before operating it.

8. Read and observe all the important notices on the appliance.

9. WARNING – For North American market only. This appliance has

a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety

feature, this plug will fit in a polarized socket only one way. If

the plug does not fit fully in the socket, reverse the plug. If it still

does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an

extension cord unless plug can be fully inserted. Do not attempt

to defeat this safety feature.

10. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with proper rating

should be used. A cord rated for less amperes or watts than the

appliance rating may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange

the cord so that it will not be tripped or pulled.

11. The pump must be immersed in water. The pump must not

run dry.

Only the faithful observation of these installation, electrical and

maintenance guidelines will ensure the safe and efficient use of

this appliance.
The Exo Terra Repti Flo 250 and 350 Circulation Pump is for

indoor, household use only. The pump is hermetically sealed to

ensure safety and a long lasting life, with all live electrical parts

immersed in a protective casing to prevent total insulation against

water damage and electrical shock. This pump is not recommended

or designed to transport corrosive or flammable compounds or

liquids with different properties than water.

Installation Instructions:

The pump should be placed on a flat level surface in clear, clean

water. Sand or silt entering the intake will wear out the impeller

prematurely or stop the pump from functioning. Ensure that the

water does not contain particulate matter that may enter the pump

and damage the impeller or block its shaft.

Install pump in desired location. Press down firmly on the pump to

ensure the suction cups on the bottom of the pump are holding it

securely in place. Connect the power cord to the electrical socket.

In order to start, the pump must be submersed in clean water. If

the unit does not start immediately, verify that the water level is

sufficient to immerse pump during operation. If problem persists,

see the

“Trouble-shooting” and “Maintenance” sections of this

manual for further information.
