Important:

• Disconnect the plug of this and any other submersed

appliance before placing hands in the water.

• The pump must not be allowed to run dry. Check the water

level periodically to ensure water level is sufficient to immerse

pump during operation. Refill water level as necessary.

Flow Control:

This circulation pump is supplied with two spouts: a 90° swivel

spout which directs the water flow output and allows changes to the

flow pattern in the terrarium; and a 180° spout to connect tubing.

Also included, an Air Flow Control Device (Venturi Effect) for added

aeration.

Note:

water flow can be increased or decreased by adjusting the flow

control dial located on the side of the pump. Turn the dial to either

increase (+) or decrease (-) the water flow.

Maintenance:

Warning:

• To avoid injury, always unplug all appliances from the outlet

when not in use; before putting on or taking off parts; and

before cleaning.

• Do not use harsh chemical cleaners or other detergents.

The power cord cannot be replaced, discard the appliance

if damaged.

The impeller cavity, although it is self cleaning, requires regular

maintenance to remove dirt, slime and debris build-up to ensure

smooth running and to extend the life of the pump. The impeller and

impeller well (where the impeller is located) should be cleaned at

least once a month, more often if necessary.

Cleaning the pump:.
1. Unplug pump and remove it from the installation.

2. To access the impeller cavity: remove the intake screen from the

pump (pump separates in two pieces)

3. Remove the impeller cover.

4. Lift out the impeller

5. Thoroughly clean the impeller and the impeller cavity to remove

slime, dirt or debris.

6. Place the impeller back into the impeller cavity. Replace the

impeller cover, then replace the intake screen.

Note:

If you are using well water, or if you have hard water, run the pump

for a few minutes in a 50/50 solution of water and vinegar to help

remove calcium deposit buildup before replacing the pump.

Troubleshooting:

Caution:

The pump must not be allowed to run dry. If pump fails to operate,

check the following:
