Procedure Simulation and Debriefi ng Screens
The procedure simulation and debriefing screens allow you to perform the intravenous catheteriza-
tion procedure and assess your performance.
Whether you have selected practice case scenarios or competency training, you will need to perform
the actual procedure.
Performing the procedure consists of 5 screens:
1. The Case Scenario screen presents the case scenario, the patient and the patient vital signs.
2. The Site Selection screen allows you to select a particular site for IV catheterization (Note:
You can change the site later in the procedure).
3. The Equipment Selection screen allows you to select the necessary equipment for IV catheter-
ization.
4. The Simulation screen allows you to perform the procedure by interacting with the software
and the haptic device.
5. The Debriefing screen presents a complete assessment of your performance and allows you to
review proper technique were errors have been made.
Examples of these screens are depicted on the following pages.
