Remove cells from a table

Click your insertion point in the row or column (or select the rows or columns or cells) you wish
to remove and click the appropriate button in the Table palette.
Or

Click your insertion point in the row or column (or select the rows or columns or cells) you wish
to remove and choose Rows, Columns, or Cells from the Delete submenu of the Table menu.

Merge cells

You can merge multiple, contiguous, cells into one.

Select the cells you wish to merge and click the Merge Cells button in the Table Cells palette.

Or

Select the cells you wish to merge and choose Merge Cells from the Table menu.
