Command Packets are used to pass ASCII characters to the printer from
an IBM-compatible twinax or coax host computer.
Command Packets can be sent from the DOS prompt or in a file (DOS
COPY command).
The following characters can be sent:
decimal 0-9 (EBCDIC F0 - F9)
or
characters A-F (EBCDIC C1- C6)
All other characters are ignored. This is a control measure so that only
valid characters and control codes are sent.
Here's an example of a packet that sends the ASCII Escape character to
the printer:
Example
&%1B$
The 1B represents the ASCII Escape character.
