Preventive Maintenance
Warnings
Read all warnings in this chapter and in the Safety Section.
Observe the following warnings and cautions:
All maintenance activities shall be performed by qualified personnel. Failure to do so could result in •
serious injury.
To prevent electrical shock, verify unit is unplugged from the electrical outlet before performing any
•
cleaning or maintenance procedures. NOTE: A charge can remain after unplugging the power cord.
Keep wet items away from inside parts of unit.

Performance level of equipment can be maintained only if it is examined regularly for damage and •
wear. NOTE: Pay special attention to components most susceptible to wear.
Replace worn or damaged components immediately and/or keep the equipment out of use until
•
repair is completed.
Cleaning Unit
Spray a clean cloth with a mild cleaning agent, such as a water and dish soap solution. 1.
Wipe unit. 2.
NOTE: Do not spray cleaning solution directly on unit. Direct spraying could cause damage to
electronics and may void warranty.
After Each Use:
Wipe up any liquid spills immediately. •
Wipe up any remaining perspiration from handles and painted surfaces. •
Be careful not to spill or get excessive moisture on the console and display overlays, as this might •
create an electrical hazard or cause failure of the electronics.
Clean heart rate grips using a cloth dampened with a cleaning solution containing alcohol.
•
NOTE: The heart rate grips are the only part of the unit where a cleaning solution containing alcohol
should be used.
