Use of the operational check source constitutes a
low level measurement. The information provided
in Section 2.8 regarding interpretation and
evaluation of fluctuations and background in the
indication apply.
There is a variation in activity from one check source to another. The nominal reading is 1.4 mR/h, but a
range of 1.2 to 1.8 mR/h will be found. The exact check source value for your instrument is stamped on a
special tag located on the case bottom.
Due to the extremely long half-life of the check source material, there will be no measurable decay in
source activity over the life expectancy of the instrument.
