Other Useful Features

Key Monitoring

Note: This feature is only available in newer versions of the

telephone system.

It is possible to monitor and to answer calls to other extensions

from a programmable function key on your phone. This feature is

useful in for example Boss-Secretary applications. To answer calls

on a Monitoring key, see section “

Answer calls

” on page 29.

The following status can be indicated on the Monitoring key:
1

The monitored extension is free (lamp is off).

2

The monitored extension has an incoming call (lamp is flashing

fast).

3

The monitored extension is busy (lamp is on).

4

The monitored extension has performed common hold (lamp is

flashing slowly).

The Monitoring keys are programmed by your system

administrator, however you can change the type of ring signal from

your phone, see section “

Change ring signal for a Monitoring key

on page 85.
When you log on to another IP phone the Monitoring keys are

automatically moved to the new phone.
