Installation
SMV_SFP Submodule Installation
Two dual channel Tx-Tx SMV_SFP submodules must be installed on an
8935CF module to provide full functionality. The type of submodule
depends on the application of the module. The submodules must be one of
the following models from Grass Valley:
•
SFP-1310-SDTX – Dual Transmitter with 1310nm FP lasers
•
SFP-CWDM-1 – Dual Transmitter with CWDM lasers (1440/1490nm)
•
SFP-CWDM-2 – Dual Transmitter with CWDM lasers (1510/1530nm)
•
SFP-CWDM-3 – Dual Transmitter with CWDM lasers (1550/1570nm)
•
SFP-CWDM-4 – Dual Transmitter with CWDM lasers (1590/1610nm)
Each submodule ships in a separate kit and must be installed by the cus-
tomer on the front module.

For using the CWDM full functionality mux/demux format with the 8939CA
and the 8935FC modules, refer to
cific submodule installation location and cabling information.
The submodule kit includes one SMV_SFP submodule with dust cover pro-
tector and a dual channel single mode standard LC fiber cable assembly
with dust covers on the fiber optic ferrules (glass ends of cable). A kit
example is shown in
CAUTION Use industry standard practice fiber optic cleaning and anti-static handling
procedures when installing and cabling the fiber optic devices. Refer to
Optic Cleaning Requirement on page 10
