TUNING IN STATIONS continued

To enter an AM frequency, press ENTER, then punch in the frequency
number; for example if it’s 810KHz, press 8 1 0.

Shortwave can be tuned continually from 3 MHz to 30 MHz. To enter a
Shortwave frequency, press ENTER, then punch in the frequency number
in MHz; for example if it’s 5.965MHz, press 5 9 6 5. If the frequency is
5.9 MHz, enter it in four digit mode, like 5 9 0 0 , or press ENTER 5 9
ENTER. If the frequency is given in KHz, simply press ENTER and punch
it in, for example for 15125 KHz, press ENTER 1 5 1 2 5 ENTER. The E4
automatically converts it to MHz.
Note: If you wrongly enter any digit of the frequency, press EXIT and
re-enter it.
Entering Shortwave Bands
To enter shortwave bands, sequentially press the SW button. The band
number appears above the frequency to the right.

SHORTWAVE BROADCAST RECEPTION

Shortwave enables listening to broadcasts over vast distances including
other countries and continents. The following information will help you
get started.

• During the day, frequencies above 11 MHz are usually best.
• At night, frequencies below 13 MHz are usually best.
• Around sunset and sunrise, the entire shortwave range may be good.

• Getting very close to a window and holding the radio improves short-

wave reception.
