DISPLAY LIGHT

The display light illuminates any time a button is pressed and the raio is
not locked.

EXTERNAL ANTENNA SOCKET

The external antenna socket is used to connect the G4 to external FM
antennas and advanced performance shortwave antennas using a 50 or
75-Ohm coaxial cable feed-line or to a long wire antenna. When using a
50 to 75 Ohm feedline for shortwave, it may be necessary to attenuate
the signal using an antenna tuner or other method.

STEREO/AM: W/N BUTTON

When listening to FM stations this button selects stereo, ‘S’, or monaural,
‘N’. Select stereo when using earphones. When not using earphones, it’s
OK to leave it on stereo. In either case, if the FM signal is poor, selecting
mono may improve it. When this is turned on ‘S’ appears in the display.

When listening to AM or shortwave use this button to go into narrow
(4Khz) or wide (6KHz) filtering mode as necessary. When narrow filtering
mode is used, ‘N’ appears in the display.

REAR FOLDING STAND

Pull the folding stand from the rear of the E4 and lean the E4 on it. This
allows viewing at a comfortable angle.
