er yourself. Never use the

charger if parts are defec-

tive. Always have the charg-

er repaired by persons

qualified and authorised

to do so. Damaged chargers,

cables and plugs increase the

risk of electric shock.

f) Never use the equipment

in direct vicinity of flamma-

bles (paper, fabric, etc). This

will prevent fire hazards due

to overheating.

g) Battery fluid may leak from

this battery when using the

charger improperly. Avoid

any contact with the bat-

tery fluid. In the event of

accidental contact with bat-

tery fluid, flush the affected

area well. If battery fluid

comes into contact with the

eyes, consult a physician.

Battery fluid can result in skin

irritation or burns.

h) Never open the charger.

This will prevent the risk of

electric shock.

i) Protect the equipment from

heat, as well as constant

sunlight and fire. Explosion

hazard.

j) Never short-circuit the bat-

tery. Explosion hazard. In

the event of improper use or

damage, vapours may leak

from the equipment. Ensure

fresh air and consult a phy-

sician if you experience dis-

comfort. Vapours can affect

the airways.

k) Never operate the charger

on flammable surfaces

(e.g. paper, textile). The heat

produced by charging poses

a fire hazard.

l) If the supply cord is dam-

aged, it must be replaced by

the manufacturer, its service

agent or similarly qualified

persons in order to avoid a

hazard.

m) CAUTION: Only allow chil-

dren at least 8 years old to

use the battery charger. Give

sufficient instruction so that

the child is able to use the

battery charger in a safe way

and explain that it is not a toy

and must not be played with.

n) Instruct the child not to try

and recharge non-recharge-

able batteries because of the

danger of eruption.

o) Examine the battery charger

regularly for damage, espe-

cially the cord, plug and en-
