4.

Move the body of the motor so that the motor
adjustment bolt slides to the left-hand side
(facing bandsaw front) of the adjustment slot.

5.

Hold the motor in position with one hand and
tighten the motor adjustment bolt with the
other hand.

6.

Push the center of the V-belt. If deflection is
approximately

" with moderate pressure

from your thumb or finger, then the tension is
correct. If the deflection is more than

3

",

repeat

steps 3-6

.

7.

When the V-belt tension is correct, tighten
the motor hinge bolt and close the lower
wheel cover.

Replacing V-Belt

To replace the V-belt:

1.

Unplug the bandsaw!

2.

Open both wheel covers.

3.

Remove the bandsaw blade.

4.

Loosen the motor mount bolts shown in

Figure 38

.

5.

Move the body of the motor so that the motor
adjustment bolt slides to the right-hand side
(facing bandsaw front) of the adjustment slot
and pull the V-belt off of the motor pulley.

6.

Unthread the wheel mount bolt shown in

Figure 39

and slide the lower wheel off of the

bearing shaft.

7.

Slip the old V-belt off of the wheel pulley and
install the new V-belt in its place.

8.

Install the lower wheel back onto the bearing
shaft and replace/tighten the wheel mount
bolt.

9.

Position the V-belt over the motor pulley.
Move the body of the motor so that the motor
adjustment bolt slides to the left-hand side
(facing bandsaw front) of the adjustment slot.

10.

Hold the motor in position with one hand and
tighten the motor adjustment bolt with the
other hand.

11.

Check the V-belt tension and adjust if neces-
sary as described in “Tensioning V-Belt”
instructions.

12.

When the V-belt tension is correct, tighten
the motor hinge bolt and close the lower
wheel cover.
