The blade guides provide side-to-side support to
help keep the blade straight while cutting. The
blade guides adjust in two ways—forward/back-
ward and side-to-side. Properly adjusted blade
guides are essential to making accurate cuts.

To adjust the upper and lower blade guides:

1. Make sure the blade tracks properly and is

correctly tensioned.

2. DISCONNECT BANDSAW FROM POWER!

3. Familiarize yourself with the blade guide con-

trols shown in

Figure 24.

4. Loosen the lateral adjustment thumbscrew.

5. Slide the guide assembly so the front edges

of the blade guides are just behind the blade
gullets as illustrated in

Figure 25.

6. Tighten the lateral adjustment thumbscrew.

7. Loosen the blade guide thumbscrews.

8. Fold a crisp dollar bill in half and place it over

the blade (between the blade guides and the
blade), as shown in

Figure 26.

NOTICE

Make sure the blade teeth will not contact

the blade guides during operations or the

tooth set on the blade will be ruined.

9. Lightly pinch the dollar bill against the blade

with the blade guides, then tighten the blade
guide thumbscrews.

10. Remove the dollar bill, then re-install the

blade guard.
