emergency calls

Your service provider programs one or more

emergency phone numbers, such as 911, that you can

call at any time, even when your phone is locked.

Note: Check with your service provider, as emergency

numbers vary by country. Your phone may not work in

all locations, and sometimes an emergency call cannot

be placed due to network, environmental, or

interference issues. Do not solely rely on your

wireless phone for essential communications such as

medical emergencies.

To make an emergency call: Turn your phone on, exit

any open application such as games, dial the

emergency number, then press the Send key (

N

) to

call the emergency number.

AGPS during an
emergency call

Note: This feature is available only when using a

CDMA network (see page 46).

When you make an emergency call, your phone can

use Assisted Global Positioning System (AGPS)

satellite signals to tell the emergency response center

your approximate location.

The AGPS feature has limitations, so always tell the

emergency response center your best knowledge of

your location. Remain on the phone for as long as the

emergency response center instructs you.

AGPS might not work for emergency calls:

Your phone’s AGPS feature must be turned on

(see page 43).
