Call handling
In order to accommodate four line appearances with two possible calls on each, the
handset display has been modified. The top row displays the signal strength icon, the
four line appearance numbers, the voicemail indicator (replaced by the downloader
icon when the handset is downloading code), a call status icon for each call,
navigation arrows, and the battery icon as shown below:

The tabs indicate which line and which call is active. In the above display, line one is
in an active call. The second call for line one is on hook.
Call status icons have the following states:

Call Status Icon Call State

Description

On Hook

The line is not in use.

Off Hook

The line is in use. There is a dial tone or there is

an active call.

Hold

The call has been placed on hold.

Incoming call ringing. Icons

flash through three views.

The line is ringing.

Outgoing call, ringing. Icons

flash between two views.

An outgoing call is ringing on the called party’s

line.

Shared line is in use. Icons

flash between two views.

The shared line is in use by another party and

is not available for incoming or outgoing calls.
