The Camcorder: Advanced Recording
Selecting the Record Mode for Camcorder Use
✤ You can select the Recording mode in the REC and
PLAY (DV IN) modes of your camcorder.
✤ This camcorder records and plays back in SP
(Standard Play) and LP (Long Play) modes.

SP: Standard Play, this mode permits 60 minutes
of recording time with a normal DVM60 tape.
- LP: Long Play, this mode permits 90 minutes of
recording time with a normal DVM60 tape.
The following instructions show how to set in REC
mode.
1. Turn your camcorder on by setting the Power
Switch to REC mode.
2. Press the MENU button.
■ The top menu including “A/V” is displayed.
3. Press the DOWN button to select “A/V”, then press
the OK button.
■ The submenu including “REC MODE” is
displayed.
4. Press the DOWN or UP button to select “REC
MODE”, then press the OK button.
■ Each press of the OK button toggles the REC
MODE between SP and LP.
5. Press the MENU button to exit the menu screen.
✤ Playback of a tape recorded by different equipment may produce
mosaic shaped distortion.
✤ When you record a tape in both SP and LP modes, or only in LP
mode, the playback picture may be distorted or the time code may
not be properly written between scenes.
✤ Record using SP mode for the best picture and sound quality.

✤ Puede seleccionar la modalidad de grabación en las
modalidades REC y PLAY (ENTRADA DV) de la
videocámara.
✤ Esta videocámara graba y reproduce en las
modalidades SP (duración estándar) y LP (larga
duración).

SP: Duración estándar, esta modalidad permite
60 minutos de grabación con una cinta DVM60
normal.
- LP: Larga duración, esta modalidad permite 90
minutos de grabación con una cinta DVM60
normal.
Las siguientes instrucciones muestran la forma de ajustar
en modo REC.
1. Encienda la videocámara colocando el interruptor de
encendido en la modalidad REC.
2. Pulse el botón MENU.
■ Aparece el menú superior que incluye “A/V”.
3. Pulse el botón ABAJO para seleccionar “A/V” y pulse
el botón OK.
■ Aparece el submenú que incluye “REC MODE”
<MODO GRAB.>.
4. Pulse los botones ARRIBA o ABAJO para seleccionar
REC MODE <MODO GRAB.> y pulse el botón OK.
■ Cada pulsación del botón OK cambia el modo de
grabación entre SP y LP.
5. Pulse el botón MENU para salir de la pantalla del
menú.
✤ Si se reproducen cintas grabadas con una videocámara diferente se
puede producir una distorsión en forma de mosaico.
✤ Si graba una cinta en las modalidades SP y LP, o si sólo graba en LP,
puede que la imagen reproducida aparezca distorsionada o que los
códigos de tiempo no aparezcan escritos correctamente entre las
escenas.
✤ Para obtener la mejor calidad de imagen y de sonido, grabe en la
modalidad SP.
