Checking status —the LED

The LED indicates the following states:

Green—

Home. The phone is on and in its home area. The light flashes

slowly when you are not making a call, it flashes 3 times per ring when
you receive a call, and it shines without flashing during a call.

Amber—

Roaming. The phone is on and in roaming mode. The light

flashes slowly when you are not making a call, it flashes 3 times per
ring when you receive a call, and it becomes solid during a call.

Red—

No signal available. The phone is on and searching for a signal.

Rapid red flashes—

Alerts. The LED flashes 5 times for incoming

messages or voice mail. It flashes 3 times for all other types of alerts.

No light—

The phone is off.

Using the screen

When the flip is closed—

The screen is not touch-sensitive. Use the shuttle

to open menus and make selections.

When the flip is open—

The screen is touch-sensitive. Use the stylus to open

applications and make selections.

Calibrating the screen—

If the screen seems unresponsive, do these steps.

Open the flip. With the stylus, tap

to view the Applications

Launcher.

Tap the Prefs

application.

3.

Tap the

in the upper-right corner of the screen. From the picklist,

tap Digitizer. Follow the instructions on the screen.
