Smart Skip (+/-), Video Synopsis, Drag & Play
The HD DVR provides intelligent video navigation & video summary. It uses
video segmentation technology based on scene monitoring and scene
change detection algorithm with an average accuracy of 95%.
Smart Skip (+/-)
Smart Skip is a trick play mode, providing intelligent scene selection in either
skip replay or skip forward modes. Instead of searching with fixed time meth-
ods, smart skip searches for active scene clusters then jumps to the first
scene in the next available cluster of scenes. This is more meaningful to
viewers than jumping to a more static scene (anchor person scene from a
news broadcast, etc).
During Playback/Timeshift, press SKIP+ at the starting point of the section
you want to watch. Press SKIP– if you want to go backward.

Pressing SKIP+ afterward pressing SKIP– does not guarantee coming back
to the same scene.
Video Synopsis
Video Synopsis is a video summary based on video scene changes, which
provides video searching by highlight: meaningful scenes are played for 1~ 4
seconds in every indexed group of scenes (touchdown scene in football,
etc).
1 During Playback/Timeshift, press SYNOPSIS at the starting point of
the section you want the unit to create a synopsis for.
The HD DVR will go into SYNOPSIS mode.
2 Press SYNOPSIS repeatedly to select the required speed:
Normal Synopsis: 4~5 times faster than normal playback.
Fast Synopsis: 7 times faster than normal playback.
Dynamic Search: 15 times faster than normal playback.
3 To exit SYNOPSIS mode, press PLAY/SLOW.
Drag & Play
Use drag & play to skip some fixed time intervals, drag & play will help.
Current playback position keeps moving while
1 / 2 is pressed. Playback
starts at the position when
1 / 2 is released.
During Playback/Timeshift, press
1 / 2 and release at the starting point
of the section you want to watch.
