Connecting by cable
W
hen you connect two computers by LapLink cable, attach the cable—serial, parallel, or USB - to
both computers and start LapLink on both computers. No separate cable driver installation is required.
Autoconnect, the default setting for cable connections, opens a connection automatically. To manually
connect, click the Connect Over button on the LinkBar, and then click Cable.
Attach one end of
the yellow LapLink
parallel cable to a
parallel port on
each computer.
Only available for
WIn95/98/ME
The blue LapLink serial cable
has two connectors at one
end, but only one connector is
attached at a time: Use the
larger connector if one of the
computers has an older 25-pin
serial port. Otherwise, attach
one of the smaller connectors
to each computer.
Attach one end of
the gold LapLink
USB cable to a
USB port on each
NOTE USB-to-serial
adapter or gender-
changing devices of
any kind are not sup-
ported for use with
LapLink Gold Corpo-
rate!
