2.3.3 Connecting External SCSI Devices

This section provides step-by-step instructions for connecting external
SCSI devices. Refer to

Section 2.2.2, “External SCSI Cable,” page 2-5

for

examples of external cables.

Step 1.

Plug the 68-pin VHDCI connector on one end of a shielded
external high density cable into the host adapter’s external
SCSI connector. This connector is exposed on the back panel
of your computer.

Step 2.

Plug the 68-pin VHDCI connector on the other end of the
shielded external SCSI cable into the SCSI connector on the
first external SCSI device.

Figure 2.9

shows how to connect a single external SCSI device.

If you have the correct cable, it will match the external
connector.
