Insert the batteries

1.

Make sure the Power dial is set to OFF.

2.

Turn the camera over so that you are looking at the bottom.

3.

If the LOCK switch for the battery compartment door is locked, unlock it.

4.

Place your thumb on the thumbgrips above OPEN and push toward the front of the
camera. Then pull the door up.

5.

Insert 4 “AA” batteries following the polarity directions in the battery compartment.

6.

Close the battery compartment door by pushing down the door and pressing it
toward the back of the camera. Then slide the LOCK switch to secure it.

Note: You must also insert the CompactFlash card before you can turn the camera
power on (see page 11).

Important:

Never use manganese batteries.

Your camera will not work if the batteries are not inserted properly.

If the camera will not be used for an extended period of time, remove the
batteries.

Never mix old batteries with new ones or batteries of different types.

Never destroy batteries or dispose of by fire. Doing so can cause an explosion
or leak caustic materials into the environment.
