Press the INPUT button
repeatedly until “Digital In 1” or
“Digital In 2” appears.

Digital input source 1 or 2 is now selected.

Note

• Make sure the supplied optical cable is

connected to the correct digital input
terminal. If you attempt to perform digital
recording using a digital input terminal
that is not connected, “D.In Unlock” will
appear.

• Use the DIGITAL INPUT 1 digital input

terminal if you connect the C-701A CD
player to this MD recorder.

Select a recording mode.

Refer to Step 4 on page 22.

Play the recording source.

If the C-701A CD player is connected to
the system, start playing the CD player.

Digital recording

In digital recording, an optical digital cable is
used to input signals from the recording source.

About digital recording
The MD-101A is equipped with a sampling
frequency converter, which enables you to
record digital signals (PCM 32kHz and 48kHz)
transmitted from external digital devices (DAT,
satelite broadcast, etc.), as well as CDs (PCM
44.1kHz).

Press the STANDBY/ON button.

The STANDBY indicator goes out.
