The following table explains the audio settings for the connection methods shown on the preceding pages.

Note:

• While an SACD or DVD-Audio disc is loaded, the HDMI Output Setting, HD Resolution, and HDMI Audio Out

settings cannot be changed. Eject the disc first if you need to change one of these settings.

SACD audio is converted to
6-channel PCM with a sam-
pling rate of 176.4 kHz.

Even if your AV receiver supports DSD,
it may convert it to PCM (44.1 kHz), in
which case this setting may provide
better sound quality.

receiver via digital

6ch DSD

Multichannel SACD audio is
output as DSD.

This setting can also be used to enjoy
SACD playback via the multichannel
analog audio output.

2ch PCM

Use this setting to output the
sound through your TV’s
speakers.

If you don’t want to listen through your
TV’s speakers, select Off instead.

Off

Set the Speaker Configura-
tion settings as necessary
(see page 52).

your AV receiver.

Set the Subwoofer, Center Speaker,
and Surround Speaker settings to Off.
Set the Front Speaker setting to Large.
