Digital connections

These connections all han-

dle digital audio I/O.

k COAXIAL INPUT and OUTPUT
(DRIVE 2)

These RCA connectors accept and

transmit digital audio data to and from drive 2
respectively in SPDIF format.

The

IN

connector accepts AES3-1992 (TYPE I) as

well as SPDIF (TYPE II) format data. The unit auto-
matically detects the data type. Input may be from
32 kHz to 48 kHz, and output is always at 44.1 kHz.

l OPTICAL INPUT and OUTPUT
(DRIVE 2)

These TOSLINK-type optical connec-

tors accept and transmit digital audio data to and
from drive 2 respectively in SPDIF format.

The

IN

connector accepts AES3-1992 (TYPE I) as

well as SPDIF (TYPE II) format data. The unit auto-
matically detects the data type. Input may be from
32 kHz to 48 kHz, and output is always at 44.1 kHz.

m COAXIAL OUTPUT (DRIVE 1)

This

RCA connector outputs digital audio data from drive
1 in SPDIF format.

n OPTICAL OUTPUT (DRIVE 1)

This

TOSLINK-type optical connector outputs digital
audio data from drive 1 in SPDIF format.

Analog connections

These connections all han-

dle analog audio I/O.

o UNBALANCED INPUT (2)

These unbal-

anced RCA connectors allow the input of –10 dBV
nominal level signals to drive 2 (red=right).

p UNBALANCED OUTPUT (2)

These

unbalanced RCA connectors output the signal from
drive 2 at –10 dBV nominal levels (red=right).

q UNBALANCED COMMON OUT

These

connectors are used in the same way as the

COMMON

setting for the headphone monitoring

D

.

Drive 1 takes priority if both drives are playing, oth-
erwise the currently-playing drive takes priority
(red=right).

r UNBALANCED OUTPUT (1)

These

unbalanced RCA connectors output the signal from
drive 2 at –10 dBV nominal levels (red=right).

s BALANCED INPUT [L, R] (2)

These bal-

anced XLR-type female connectors accept analog
signals at +4 dBu nominal levels to drive 2.

t BALANCED OUTPUT [L, R] (2)

These

balanced XLR-type male connectors output the ana-
log outputs from drive 2 at +4 dBu nominal levels.

u BALANCED OUTPUT [L, R] (1)

These

balanced XLR-type male connectors output the ana-
log outputs from drive 1at +4 dBu nominal levels.

NOTE

All XLR-type connectors are wired with 1=ground,
2=hot, and 3=cold.

Other connections

These are control and power

connections.
