Disc compare

As well as the automatic compare operation follow-
ing a copy as explained above, it is also possible to
compare two finalized CD-ROMs at any time.

With the finalized disc in drive 2 and the
original in drive 1, press

DISC COPY

.

Display 1 shows

DISC COMPARE

and display 2

shows

COPY> COMPARE

.

Press

MULTI DIAL

(2). The display shows

COMPARE GO?

.

Press

MULTI DIAL

(2) to start the compare

operation.

A-B copying

This allows the copying of material from an audio
disc between the A and B points (“A and B points
(drive 1 only)” on page 22
).

The source disc should be in drive 1 and the
destination disc in 2.

Set the A and/or the B points on the source
disc (“A and B points (drive 1 only)” on
page 22)
.

If only the A point is set, the copy will be
from the A point to the end of the track. If
only the B point is set, the copy will be from
the start of the track to the B point.

If both points are set, in order that the final
disc corresponds to the Red Book standard,
these points must be at leas 4 seconds apart.
Point A must be before point B.

With both drives stopped, press the

A-B

COPY

key. The displays show

A-B COPY

and

COPY>

A-B

.

Press the

MULTI DIAL

(2).

Select the copy speed (x4, x2 or x1), and press
the

MULTI DIAL

(2).

Drive 2 display shows

COPY START ?

.

Press the

MULTI DIAL

(2). Copying takes

place (standby and copy) as for other copy
operations.

The displays return to normal when the copy
operation is complete.

NOTE

The error messages mentioned above appear if the
wrong type of disc has been loaded as source or desti-
nation.

If the A and B points are too close together the display
shows

Not enough

.

If the B point is set before the A point, the display
shows

A-B ERROR

.

It is not possible to copy more than one track if the
tracks have different emphasis status.

A-B Excluded copy

This allows the copying of a track (audio) except the
portion delimited by the A and B location points. The
A and B location points must be in the same track for
this function to be enabled.
