MIDI Sequencer (Performer) Setup

To operate Performer in synchronization with the timecode of the BRC, select [Modem] with
[Receive Sync] and [MTO, DTL, or DTLe] with the [Type of Sync] in the Basic menu of Performer.
Then select the frame-rate with the [SMPTE Frame Format] to match the frame-rate of the time-
code that’s being received.

To record WR-DA7 operation on the MIDI sequencer (Performer), start [Patch Thru] in the Basic
menu and set [Select Patch Thru Mode] to [OFF] so the MIDI sequencer will not echo MIDI mes-
sages.

To set Performer to slave mode, select [Slave to External Sync] in the Basic menu. Then, select
[Control Panel] in the Windows menu of Performer, then press the [PLAY] and [REC] buttons in
the open window so Performer will stand by to receive timecode.

ADAT, BRC Setup

With the BRC serving as the wordclock master, select [Fixed Mode] to select a sampling rate of 48
kHz, or select [Variable Mode] to select a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz. Then press the [Pitch Down]
switch to set -147 cent ([44.1] shown on the screen).

MTC setup, set MIDI to [MTC] in the Gen Sync setup menu, and press the [Gen Sync] switch to
[ON].

To output timecode from the BRC during ADAT FF/REW, set item 8 [Output Rew/FF SMPTE &
MTC] on the BRC MIDI/UTIL setup menu to [ON].

To operate the MMC, the MMC and MIDI channels of the WR-DA7 and BRC must be set the same.
On the BRC, set items 11 [MIDI Device] on the MIDI/UTIL setup menu to "the MIDI channel set by
the WR-DA7 minus 1" or [ALL].
