To use vector control and automatic torque boost, motor constant setting (motor tuning) is required. The motor
constant can be set in any of the following three ways.
After setting by one of three ways, drive the motor.
Selection 1: Using the automatic torque boost (CW) to make the setting of the motor control mode selection (RV)

and the auto-tuning 1 parameter (H) at a time.

Selection 2: Setting the motor control mode selection (RV) and the auto-tuning 1 parameter (H) individually.
Selection 3: Combining the motor control mode selection (RV) and manual tuning.

[Selection 1: Setting by automatic torque boost]

This is the easiest of the available methods. With the automatic control parameter, you can set the automatic torque
boost, the sensorless vector control and the auto-tuning 1 parameter at a time.

Set the automatic torque boost CW=(Automatic torque boost+auto-tuning 1)
Set the automatic torque boost
CW=(Voltage-type vector+auto-tuning 1)

[Selection 2: Setting sensorless vector control and auto-tuning 1
independently]

This method sets sensorless vector control and auto-tuning 1 independently.
Specify the control mode selection parameter (RV) and then set auto-tuning 1.

Note 1: When H is set to , factory default values are taken for parameters H (motor constant 1),

H

(motor constant 2), H (motor constant 3), and H (motor constant 4).

Note 2: If H is set to , only auto-tuning is performed. So use this setting when the machine cannot be

operated as-is for reasons of itself after auto-tuning.

Note 3: When setting H to ,  or , set the base frequency XN, base frequency voltage XNX, motor's

rated voltage H and motor's rated rotational speed H in advance, as specified on the motor
nameplate. This makes it possible for the inverter to be tuned with higher precision.

Note 4: When auto-tuning cannot be made (for example, when no motor is connected), set H to  to make

the inverter automatically calculate and set the motor constant.

Auto-tuning 2 refers to the function of adjusting the motor constant automatically, while estimating the increase in the
motor temperature.
When using a motor without a cooling fan (natural air-cooling type), set H to . When using a motor with a
cooling fan (forced air-cooling type), set H to .
• Perform auto-tuning 2 along with auto-tuning 1.
• Perform auto-tuning when the motor is cold (temperature equal to the ambient temperature).
