Minor carburetor adjustment may be required to
compensate for differences in fuel, temperature,
altitude and load.

Refer to the separate engine manual, packed with
your unit, for carburetor adjustment information.

SECTION 6: MAINTAINING YOUR SNOW THROWER

WARNING:

Before lubricating, repairing, or

inspecting, disengage all clutch levers and
stop engine. Wait until all moving parts have
come to a complete stop. Disconnect spark
plug wire and ground it against the engine to
prevent unintended starting. Always wear
safety glasses during operation or while
performing any adjustments or repairs.

Lubrication

Engine

Refer to the separate engine manual packed with the
snowthrower for detailed instructions regarding all
engine-related maintenance.

WARNING:

If any adjustments need to be

made to the engine while the engine is
running (e.g. carburetor), keep clear of all
moving parts. Be careful of muffler, engine
and other surrounding heated surfaces.

Drive / Auger Control Lock

The cams on the ends of the control rods which
interlock the drive and auger controls must be
lubricated at least once a season or every 25 hours of
operation. The cams can be accessed beneath the
handle panel. Use a multi-purpose automotive grease.
See Figure 14.

Gear Case

The gear case is lubricated with grease at the factory
and it does not require checking. If disassembled for
any reason, lubricate with 2 ounces of Shell Alvania
grease EPR00, part number 737-0168. Before
reassembling, remove old sealant and apply new
sealant.
